THE ROLE: Renewable Energy Credit Portfolio Manager

Spruce Power owns and operates over 75,000 residential solar systems across 18 States, which includes a heavy presence in the key Solar Renewable Credit (SREC) markets of California, New Jersey, and Massachusetts.

Spruce’s ECM Group is responsible for managing all aspects of the companies SREC revenue, which accounts for ~10% of Spruce’s gross annual receipts. In addition, the ECM Desk plays a key role in originating new business and supporting Spruce’s Corporate Development Group on mergers and acquisitions and other special projects.

Our growth strategy for 2024+ is to expand the ECM Desk through improved operations of existing assets and building upon our nationwide presence to originate new physical assets with SREC potential. Furthermore, we intend to expand our ECM Desk’s capabilities to include opportunistic arbitrage trading on various environmental products.

Spruce is headquartered in Denver, CO, with a presence in Houston, TX and the Bay Area, CA. This role is envisioned to be located in Denver, CO.

Spruce is seeking a seeking a candidate with the ability to step in and take over responsibilities from the Director of the ECM Desk and actively manage the day-to-day operations of our multi-million-dollar REC business line.

Key Responsibilities Include:

· Managing the ongoing monitoring and reporting of production to PJM GATS, MA CEC, NEPOOL and WREGIS

· Developing supply and demand models for California REC markets

· Forecasting SREC production and revenue for FP&A

· Interfacing with market participants including brokers and counterparties

· Originating new business and trading opportunities

· Interfacing with WREGIS and other regulatory bodies to register sites

· Interface with Operations to optimize SREC revenue

· Data entry and management of junior employees completing the same task

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Experience

· Mastery of Microsoft Excel

· Experience building supply and demand models for environmental markets

· Familiarity with RPS and other environmental market-based regulations

· REC transaction experience

· Interacting with regulatory bodies to register projects

Desired Experience Not Required

· Management and registering assets in PJM GATS, MA CEC, NEPOOL and WREGIS.

· Origination of new assets or trading opportunities

· General business development in environmental commodities markets

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience is required.
